What is Powderhorn: Well friends let me explain that this is a hands-on introduction to High Adventure activities that are available to you and your unit here in the Alamo Area Council area. You will be given the opportunity to try out Scuba, Mountaineering, COPE, black powder shooting, dutch oven cooking, and much, much more. This course is “Challenge by Choice.” You only have to do the things that you want to do, but will learn about all of the presented activities. The course is designed around the Venturing Ranger Award, but is for all Scout Leaders who want to provide the best possible program to their youth. You will have a great time, meet like minded fellow adults and learn about all the opportunities that are out there for your unit from local experts. This is not a total training program but an orientation course so that you, the leader, will be able to find the local expert to bring the program to your unit that they want.

Remember, don’t wait to sign up. The course is limited to 48 folks and we must have 32 signed up by 1 August 2006. Don’t miss this exciting event.

I will see you there!
