Cub Scout Motto: Do Your Best
The Cub Scout Pack
The Pack is a group made up of several dens - Tiger
Cub, Cub Scout, and Webelos Scout dens. Cub Scouts are boys
who are in the second or third grade (or 8 or 9 years old).
Cub Scout den meetings are run by an adult den leader with
the help of an assistant den leader and den chief. Meeting
activities are planned around monthly themes and include playing
games, making handicrafts, taking hikes and other outdoor
activities, and taking part in ceremonies and songs. When
they complete the third grade (or reach age 10), the boys
graduate to a Webelos Scout den. Most packs have a den for
each grade level.
Cub Scout Ranks
Cub Scouting gives boys a sense of personal achievement
as they earn badges, and strengthens family understanding
as adult family members work with boys on advancement projects.
Cub Scouts advance through the following ranks.
 |
Tiger Cub. First-grade boys, working with
their adult partners, achieve the Tiger Cub badge after
completing five achievements grouped in three areas:
den activity, family activity, and Go See It |
 |
Bobcat. To earn the Bobcat badge, new
Cub Scouts must learn and say the Cub Scout Promise,
say and explain the Law of the Pack, and explain the
meaning of Webelos, as well as other requirements.
