Shopping: Fort Wilderness offers two stores. The two gift shops have your usually Disney souvenirs and souvenirs with the Fort Wilderness theme on them. The stores also offer limited necessities (milk, eggs, juice, and can goods), toiletries and RV supplies.

All of the Walt Disney World (WDW) resorts have their own amenities and landscaping, but I think Fort Wilderness is truly unique. Fort Wilderness provides a refuge from WDW itself. While at my campsite I feel as though I’m hundreds of miles away from Walt Disney World, hearing wind rustling through the pines, the smell of baby back ribs on the open grill. It's quite a difference from the concrete, brick and mortar of the other resorts and parks. The resort is well maintained and relaxed in atmosphere. Its location is close enough to Magic Kingdom, and easy transportation to the rest of WDW, yet in a world all its own because the wooded acreage is preserved. Staff is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable.
