Disney World Hints and Tips
Top Ten List
Top ten things you should not leave at home, while visiting
Disney World. (list gets bigger as people email me).
22. ID cards, such as AAA AARP cards (Sam)
21. Extra glasses (Steve)
20. Contact lenses (Kate)
19. Credit-card pin numbers. (Chris)
18. Itinerary with someone at home. (Megan)
17. Our Kids (Diana wrote in)
16. Disposable diapers
15. Baby formula
14. Stroller
13. Blank camcorder tapes
12. Batteries
11. Media cards – for digital camera
10. Film
9. Minimal clothing – Try not to be like Depot
Dan and his family, pack reasonable. Most families make the mistake
of over packing. Many hotels have laundry facilities where you can wash
you clothes after a few days. You will most likely be buying souvenirs,
which you will have to pack for the return trip. Disney reports that many
families have to ship clothing home UPS. Unless you are planning on a
special night out, casual clothing is acceptable.
8. Ponchos – If you are traveling during summer, plan on taking
a poncho, Murphy’s Law assures that it will rain on your family
vacation. Some would suggest an umbrella, but Depot
Dan does not like to carry one around. When it does rain, do you
really want to hold that umbrella on a ride?
7. Sunscreen – Keep some with you at all times, put it on often.
Disney reports that sunburn is the number one complaint at the first aid
stations.
6. Waist pouch or fanny pack – Depot Dan’s
wife hates these things, but it is a good alternative to dragging along
a purse while touring, and it frees up your hands for boarding rides,
pushing strollers, and holding on to your kids. Depot
Dan likes the ones that hold bottle water. Disney lets you take
water in.
5. Sunglasses - The Florida sun is bright. It’s no fun to reach
into you fanny pack and find you left them someplace else. For children
who do not wear sunglasses, place a large brim hat on them.
4. Comfortable shoes – not much to say on this subject.
